My Chicago Marathon Experience

I went to Illinois with my Mom, who was going to be running in the Chicago Marathon. We stayed with family and had a fun time in the days before the race. We even went to the race expo with my Mom.

The expo was cool. It had tons of food, and it had sports games that we played, and we got this foam toy that was shaped like a police badge.

The night night before the race my brothers, Dylan and Conor, Tash, my Mom and my cousins, Alex and Jake all got together. We walked on the pier where there was an old Tucker car that had sank underwater years ago. There were people dressed up in costumes. One of them scared a little girl. Then we went for pizza. It was good but I didn't get to finish it because we ordered three pizzas and this guy gave me a gumball.

My Mom spent the night in a hotel that night and we went back to my other cousins (Kelly, Brendan, Kasey, Jess, and Bradey) house. My cousins Cloe and Connor don't live there but they are always there so it seems like they live there too. Also, Sarah and Ryan D were there a lot too.

On race day, my Mom was already running when Dylan, Tash, Cloe, Jess, Conor, and I got on train. The train ride was long because a train got stuck on the tracks and our train had to push it to Chicago.

By the time we got to the race course my Mom was already past where we were going to see her (mile 13). She called us and told us that she wasn't running a fast as she wanted to because it was too hot and there were too many people.

It was so hot out that when we were walking we were sweating a lot. We were thristy too. We went to McDonalds and then to the finish line to wait for my Mom.

Right when we got there they called the race off. They closed the race down half way through. My Mom was already past the half way spot. She called to tell us that she was going to run the rest of the way. We went to the hotel to wait because my Mom told us to because it was so hot.

Before my Mom finished we went to eat in the dining room. We ate a lot of food. My Mom came and she was wearing a medal. We finished our food and saved some for my Mom. She ate it all up.

After that, we went to the train station and went back to Kelly's. Later we got on the plane to come back home.

4th Grade Art

In 4th grade we did this thing where you write your name in cursive on this peice of paper on both sides of a folded piece of paper. When you unfold the paper it makes a neat design.

We also made a cool scarecrow for the Fall festival. Our class scarecrow won the contest. My 1st grade teacher won the drawing for our class scarecrow.

How My Dad Died

One day while I was in bed my Dad had a stroke. We charged down the stairs wondering what happened. I missed it but my Mom saw it. So she took him to the hospital.

Later we found out that he had lunch cancer. It was worse than that. The cancer spread to his brain and a lot of bones. He didn't eat much but oh when he ate those chocolate cookies he went "mmmmmm."

One day he told us something. He told us, "when I die I'll always love you and be close to each other, try and be good friends," he said.

One afternooon when I arrived home my brother Dylan and my Mom met me outside and told me that my Dad died.

I miss him.
